Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Jazmine, who is Philadelphia native is a native of Philadelphia, and was raised in the city. Pam Her mother, who is an ex-backup singer at Philadelphia International Records. As a child the father of her was appointed to be City's Historic Strawberry Mansion curator. The family then moved into this historic building. She was a graduate in 2005 from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts in which she was an instructor of vocal music. Sullivan began singing in the school's chorus as a contralto, later she joined the adult chorus a couple of years later. He was exposed to secular music but was initially minimal "I performed solos at the church, and I was asked to be a part of a gospel label before I was eleven but I wasn't prepared to sign that contract," she recalls. "Then the time came that McDonald's had a competition for kids in major cities I had the opportunity to sing 'Accept What God Wills' on Showtime in the Apollo and the audience loved it". She was just 13 when she sang with Stevie Wonder for his grandson's birthday celebration. Sullivan was first signed to Jive Records at the age fifteen. When she was 15, she was signed to Jive Records. They recorded the entire album however it was never released. Sullivan was eventually dropped from the label. The singer had a great working relations to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced several of her songs and tracks, such as "Backstabbers", which was written by Timbaland.
